On illegal immigration: the trouble you risk

There are a lot of illegal immigrants in the United States, so many that nobody really knows how many there are. They come to the US because they think that even being an illegal immigrant is better than the life they had at home. In many cases this turns out to be not true. There are some very serious troubles that you will encounter as an illegal immigrant.

The biggest trouble that you risk being an illegal immigrant is that you will be sent to prison. Admittedly the chances of this happening are pretty slim but the chance does exist. The most likely reason that this would happen would be if you were on trial for another crime, they may decide to add charges of being an illegal immigrant. The other reason that it may happen is if you are deported and you come back to the US. In this case they will probably still deport you again. However if you keep coming back eventually they will send you to prison.

Illegal ImmigrationA far bigger risk that you run as an illegal immigrant is that you will be deported. This is something that happens fairly regularly, people get sent back to their home country all the time. If you are deported you will have to pay the cost of it yourself. You will also find that it will be difficult to bring any assets that you have with you or dispose of them before you go. The result is that being deported can be very expensive. Most illegal immigrants end up being sent back to their home country with nothing.

Another huge problem that you face as an illegal immigrant is that you probably won't be able to get health care if something happens. You will not be able to qualify for any of the government health care programs and any job that you are likely to find will probably not include health insurance, in fact you can be sure that it won't. The result is that unless you can pay for your medical care in cash, which very few illegal immigrants can, you are not going to be able to get health care.

One other trouble that you are going to run into is that you will likely be exploited by employers. Because any job that you take would be illegal you are not protected by the labor laws. Most employers who hire illegal immigrants do so specifically for this reason. The result is that in many cases you will be paid less than the minimum wage or required to work an excessive number of hours. Even worse you may have to work in unsafe conditions. This is especially problematic in light of the fact that you probably can't afford health coverage.
